Life Onboard

The 435 features a two-stateroom, two-head layout that packs in a ton of useful and useable space. The raised pilothouse forward features a helm seat on centerline with good lines of sight, and a large settee to port with seating for four. Large, opening windows flood the area with air and natural light. All controls and electronics are easily accessible. The pilothouse doors lead to wide side decks with thoughtfully placed cleats and deck hardware designed for cruising.

From the pilothouse, a stairway to starboard brings guests to the forward accommodations, which provide plenty of space for two couples or a family onboard. The amidships master stateroom utilizes the 435’s full beam and has a walkaround queen berth and an ensuite head. Forward, the guest stateroom has a Pullman queen berth (with the option for an additional bunk) to port, and another ensuite head. Both heads are equipped with stand-up showers.

In the saloon, there is a U-shaped galley with a three-burner stove and plenty of counterspace and cabinetry to port, and an L-shaped settee to starboard. Additional creature comforts in the area include large windows, a floating lounge chair, an entertainment area, and more stowage for gear, toys, and supplies.

Below the waterline, a molded composite skeg protects the prop and supports the rudder, while both the main engine and the 9kW Northern Lights genset have underwater exhaust. Side-Power SEP electric bow and stern thrusters add to ease of maneuverability. Power comes from a single 550-horsepower Cummins diesel housed in an engine room that is sure to make you popular with your mechanic.

The 435 rides atop the same seaworthy hull that has defined American Tug since the brand’s inception and boasts a 17-knot top speed that will give you plenty of cruising options.

  • The large galley is more than adequate for life onboard, with tons of counter space, seating, and stowage.
  • The forepeak head is accessible from the forward stateroom or can double as a day-head.
  • The forepeak stateroom features a large berth to port and plenty of stowage for life onboard.
  • The flybridge helm station provides excellent sight lines for shorthanded docking, and a great view for taking in the scenery while underway.
  • The engine room is huge, with easy access to service points, and the ride is quiet even at WOT thanks to careful sound attenuation.
  • Underway, the 435 boasts a 540 nautical mile range at 10.25 knots with a 10-percent reserve.
