The American Tug 395 marks a sweet spot for coastal cruisers looking to either voyage as a couple or with family. From an accommodation standpoint, she comes with a single-stateroom, single-head layout that will give owners everything they need for extended time onboard, or the 395 can carry a second stateroom if your cruising plans involve family and friends. Additionally, there are two salon layouts to choose from, and there are two engine packages available. Simply put—the American Tug 395 offers cruisers a lot of flexibility, no matter what they’re looking for.
The 395 is everything you’d expect from an American Tug—a ship-like, confidence-instilling profile, beefy deck hardware, and wide side decks that make handling lines, docking, and moving fore and aft while underway easy and safe. She’s built with solid fiberglass below the waterline, and the hull is vacuum-bagged and foam-cored for additional strength.
The 395 comes standard with a Northern Lights generator, bow and stern thrusters for easy maneuvering, and a stern davit for loading the tender. And, as she is truly made to become your dream cruising vessel, owners can choose between diesel heat or air conditioning with reverse cycle heat, and a propane or electric range. Whatever you need, the American Tug 395 can provide.
For getting underway, the 395 comes standard with a 380-horsepower Cummins diesel or you can choose the 550-horsepower Cummins. With the smaller of the two engine options, the 395 has a cruising speed of 14 knots that sips just 1 gallon per nautical mile. With the larger propulsion package, the 395’s top speed creeps up to north of 23 knots.
With her comfortable and economical ride, and enough options to suit a variety of cruising needs, the American Tug 395 offers a near-perfect package for owners looking to spend extended time onboard.
