Life Onboard

The 365 is designed to run efficiently on a standard single 380-horsepower Cummins diesel power package (an optional propulsion system from Volvo is available). With the standard engine, the 365 tops out around 17 knots, while burning approximately 20 gallons per hour. Throttle back to 63-percent load and she effortlessly cruises at approximately 12.4 knots burning just over 1 gallon per nautical mile. Like all American Tug models, there is careful attention paid to sound attenuation to reduce noise while underway, which not only creates a more pleasant environment, but also helps to cut down on crew fatigue.

The salon is large, open, and well-suited for life onboard. An L-shaped settee sits across from the large galley with a three-burner stovetop and double-basin sink. A standing refrigerator with freezer will hold provisions for extended cruising, and large windows help to bring the outside in.

The pilothouse, located forward and up three steps, is open to the saloon, so the helmsman will never feel left out of the action. Additionally, there is seating to port, so guests can enjoy the journey from the best seat in the house. Easy access to the wide side decks make docking single-handed easier.

The forepeak master stateroom features a walkaround queen berth, large hanging locker, a head with standing shower, and enough stowage capacity to easily match the 365’s coastal cruising mission. It’s no wonder she has become one of the go-to yachts for couples looking to explore liveaboard opportunities—the 365 has a lot to offer in an economical, functional, and comfortable package.

  • The raised pilothouse features ample seating and fantastic views.
  • The galley has plenty of counter space for meal-prep.
  • A large berth and plenty of stowage await in the master stateroom
  • The ship-like helm station should instill confidence in any owner, but don’t overlook the area’s creature comforts—opening windows, plentiful seating, and easy access to the saloon make this one of the best places to relax while underway.
  • The large saloon and galley provide the perfect venue for entertaining friends, or quiet meals at anchor.
  • The 365 rides atop a seaworthy semi-displacement hull designed to take on the rugged Bering Sea while delivering speeds ranging from six to 17 knots.
