The American Tug 362 provides a safe, seaworthy, and economical ride.

  • 14’4” Great Loop-friendly vertical clearance w/ mast down
  • 2 stateroom layout
  • 16.5 knot top speed
  • 10+ knot economical cruise speed

Chances are, you won’t be experiencing the same seas that inspired Seattle yacht designer Lynn Senour’s commercial hull design which served as the genesis for the first American Tug. But just because you might not be trying to tame the wild Bering Sea, that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the fruits of his labors.

The American Tug 362 is a comfortable coastal cruiser with a seaworthy hull, welcoming two-stateroom accommodations, and an ideal 10-plus knot cruising speed—perfect for long weekends or extended trips.

Life Onboard

Stepping aboard, owners will be greeted by the sturdy, solid construction that American Tug is known for, with thoughtful details like well-placed handrails and beefy hardware. An ideal layout for cruising with the family or two couples, the saloon features a convertible settee with dining table to starboard and an L-shaped galley and countertop with dual sinks to port.

Three steps up lead to the pilothouse, where the abundant natural light, sapele overhead, and LED lighting provide a bright and welcoming station for the helmsman and crew. A full Garmin electronics package, which comes standard, is accompanied by a LeBroc helm chair. There is companion seating to port. A flybridge is optional and includes a stainless-steal radar arch.

A hatch underfoot leads to the mechanical systems, where the standard single 320-horsepower Volvo D4 diesel sits in the well-lit engine room, easily accessible for routine maintenance.

The forepeak master stateroom features a queen berth on centerline, lots of stowage for extended cruising, two ports for natural light, and an overhead hatch for ventilation. The guest stateroom, located to port, has a double berth, hanging locker and two-drawer dresser, and a stainless-steel port with screen for welcoming in natural light and fresh air.

With a 300-watt solar panel, 2,000-watt inverter/charter, bow thruster, Northern Lights generator, and a propane stove/oven, the 362 comes ready to cruise. All you need to do is plot your course and clear your calendar.

  • The saloon is open to the pilothouse, and the settee and dinette to starboard convert to an additional berth that allows for six to sleep comfortably.
  • The head features a standup shower with port for ventilation.
  • Pilothouse doors provide the helmsman with easy access to the side decks when docking.
  • The engine room is easily accessible from a hatch in the pilothouse, providing access to the power plant for engine room checks and maintenance.
  • The forepeak master stateroom offers a large and welcoming berth and stowage worthy of the boat’s 900 nautical mile range
  • The large galley to port features plenty of counter space, dual sinks, a cooktop and oven, microwave, and fridge/freezer—everything you need for preparing meals onboard or entertaining guests.
