Building Boats The Right Way Matters

Every American Tug model is meticulously built at our La Conner, Washington plant, where skilled craftsmen combine traditional techniques with advanced production engineering. Our production process and foundational elements on the factory floor are key to ensure the delivery of a superior quality boat.

Each American Tug begins with a solid, hand-laid fiberglass hull, ensuring durability and seaworthiness. Precision molds and resin infusion technology enhance structural integrity and weight optimization, while the n-house production of key components guarantees consistency and quality. All of our American Tug decks are build as a single part. This eliminates seams that can leak in the future and provides tremendous strength to our boats. However our hulls start as two parts that are combined after the initial layers of gelcoat and fiberglass are applied. The two-part mold approach allows us the release the finished hull which would otherwise be stuck due to the signature plank lines being convex on the mold.

The factory’s vertical integration allows for exceptional attention to detail, with rigorous inspections at every stage of construction. This approach results in trawlers renowned for their strength, efficiency, and timeless appeal, providing owners with unmatched reliability and performance for coastal cruising adventures.
